Exchange bureaux are widely available in the resorts and towns along the Costa del Sol, and Malaga is no exception. Along the Calle Marqués de Larios you'll find plenty of bureaux as well as banks offering exchange facilities. They will be signed cambio.
You can use ATMs to withdraw local currency direct from your account but you will usually be charged a fee for each transaction. Check with your bank before travelling to find out how much this will be.
Traveller's cheques are widely accepted.
There are plenty of banks on Malaga's main street, the Calle Marqués de Larios. Due to the short opening hours of Spanish banks ATMs are often more useful. There are plenty on the high street in the same area.
Banks generally open Mon-Fri 09h00-14h00 and Sat 09h00-12h30. During the summer you'll find these hours are subject to change according to business and temperature.
