Dona Lola is a beach-side Gold Crown Resort at Calahonda, between Malaga airport (25 minutes) and Marbella (10 mins).Amongst swaying palms, waterfalls, and heavily scented flower-filled gardens, the apartments of this prestigious holiday complex slope down to the sea. This privately owned air-conditioned penthouse apartment has superb panoramic sea-views from it's large southerly facing top (3rd) floor balcony. It has 3 double bedrooms (1 en-suite); 2 bathrooms with showers, spacious comfortable lounge with colour television, and fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher. Facilities on this prestigious complex include a superb 270 ft pool which meanders along right by the sea. There's an indoor leisure complex with gym, heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi, snooker room, etc.,and an over 18's pool in a lovely sheltered sun-trap. There are two floodlit tennis courts on the complex, and bowls & golf nearby. There is free evening entertainment. The beach is just a few steps down from the pool, and you can walk along the beach for as long as you want. There are interesting sea-side locations within 30 minutes walk in both directions, passing (or not !) beach-bars on the way. There are several bars and restaurants (Chinese, English, Indian, and Spanish tapas) within a 2 minute walk of the penthouse apartment. There are many more of both across the road (via an underpass or footbridge) amongst shops, banks, supermarkets, and a medical centre. There's an excellent coastal bus service, and tourist trips can be arranged at reception. Everything here that you could possibly want from a holiday abroad, including good weather even in winter !

There are tennis courts on the complex, and there are snooker, pool, and table-tennis tables in the indoor leisure club. There are good places in the sea close by for snorkelling. On beaches within easy reach of the resort you can try water-skiing, jet-biking, sailing, and wind-surfing. There's a diving school at Torreblanca, horse-riding (and horse-racing!) at fuengirola, some cracking bowling greens at very nearby Miraflores, water-parks at Torremolinos and Fuengirola, and a casino at Benalmadena! There are opportunities to partake in a 'jeep safari', or to ride a quad-bike in the 'Sierras' to the North. If you decide not to hire a car, but want to see more of Spain, then book a space on a coach at the Dona Lola reception. There are regular organised coach-trips to such spectacular places as Ronda, Nerja, and Seville, and to some less-spectacular, but intertesting, Tangiers ! You can often partake in a FREE reception trip to Malaga or Mijas, or a local market.
